How to add html signatures to Outlook

To add an custom html signature to outlook, requires a little bit of tweaking to get it to work 100%

  1. Firstly you need to create the html page of your signature information, ie links to facebook, company logos etc, this can be done by a web developer or if you know html you can create it yourself.  This needs to be saved as an .htm file, ie sandy.htm and saved in the signatures folder

  2. Open the folder containing Outlook signatures by pasting below folder path in red into the Address box in a folder and pressing the Enter key.
    Folder path of Outlook signatures%AppData%\Microsoft\Signatures
  3. Any image files used in the signature need to be either located in the signatures folder or located on a publicly accessible website location, if located in the signature folder you will need to create a folder the same name of the signature, ie sandy_files in the signature folder,  copy the images into this folder, or if you are using an external website, then upload the files to the website location, ie https://sandy.co.za/images/signatures

  4. The image locations then need to be specified in the sandy.htm file specific to the image location to use, if you are using the local folder your image links should look similar to this

    <img border=0 width=354 height=88 src="sandy_files/image001.png" >

    If you are using a website for the files then look like this

    <img border=0 width=354 height=88 src="https://sandy.co.za/images/signatures/sandy_files/image001.png" >

  5. Once your signature file is correct and the files are located in the correct folder or location, then open up outlook

  6. Goto File > Options > Mail > Signatures

  7. Select your signature and it should display correctly, then select your mail account on the right side and select the signature to display with it.
