Samsung Smartphone / TAB to use an IMAP or POP Setup & Configuration

  1. On your Samsung Galaxy phone do the following from the main menu screen
  2. Tap the Apps Icon
  3. Tap the Email Icon
  4. Tap the Options key (left bottom of screen next to middle button)
  5. Tap Settings in the menu
  6. Tap the + icon
    • Enter your full email address
    • Tap the Password field & Enter in your password
  7. Tap Manual Setup
  8. Tap POP3 Account
    • Tap the Username field and enter your full email address
    • Tap the Password field and enter your password
  9. Tap the POP3 Server field
    • Enter the  POP3 server name "mail.yourdomain.co.za"
      (Note if you want to use TLS encryption use  mail.yourdomain.co.za)  
      Remember to replace the yourdomain.co.za with your own domain name
    • Tap the Security Type field & select "None"
      (Note: if using encryption  select "TLS - Accept all certificates")
    • Tap the Port field & check the port number is "110"
    • Tap in the Delete Email form Server field & Select Never or When I Delete from Inbox
  10. Tap Next (The POP settings will be checked)
  11. Tap the SMTP Server field.
    • Enter in the  SMTP server name "smail.yourdomain.co.za"
      (Note:  if you want to use TLS encryption use mail.yourdomain.co.za)
      Remember to replace the yourdomain.co.za with your own  doman name
    • Tap the Security Type field & Select  "None")
      (Note: if using encryption  select "TLS - Accept all certificates")
    • Tap the Port field & check the port number is "587"
    • Ensure Require Sign In is ticked
    • Tap the Username field & Enter in your full email address
    • Tap the Password field & Enter in your password
  12. Tap Next (The SMTP settings will be checked)
  13. Tap the Email Check Frequency field
    • Select the desired time
    • Tap Next
  14. Tap the Give this Account a Name field
  15. Enter in the name of the email provider
  16. Tap the Your Name field
  17. Enter in your full name
  18. Tap Done
  19. Your inbox in now setup for use
