If you receive an error indicating that you cant create file/folder , when installing modules and plugins please follow the below steps to resolve this issue.
- Edit your configuration.php file
- edit the log and tmp variables to reflect the full path to your joomla site
- This would be c:\domains\"yourdomainname"\wwwroot\ of joomla is in your wwroot folder, if the joomla installation is in a subfolder add the subfolder name in as well ie "\new", "\joomla".
- goto help > system info > file permissions and make sure all folders are writable
- If they are all writable you should be able to install the modules/plugins now.
