Our network is currently experiencing a targeted distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. The attack is directed at our upstream network infrastructure and is causing intermittent packet loss and elevated latency for some customers. We are working closely with our upstream partners and internet exchange peers to identify, filter, and mitigate the malicious traffic as quickly as possible. Customers may experience intermittent connectivity disruptions until the attack is fully mitigated. We apologize for any inconvenience and will continue to provide updates as the situation develops.

Most of the issues have been resolved, however, these types of attacks have the possibility of reoccuring, randomly. We are monitoring the situation ongoing. - Investigating Re-occurence.

We had reports of customers having access issues again, after investigation it was fount the Attacks have begun again, we are addressing the DDOS service attacks with datacenter and connectivity providers to mitigate the high load of connections from global botnets on the datacenters. Unfortunately a 330Gbps load overwelms the current mitigation systems of these providers causing connectivity issues for our clients. Our services are 100% up and working, but the connectivity to the DCs is overwelmed by these attacks. There could be periods when services are not available. We are working at our best to resolve these issues with the service provider. - Resolution

All services were restored, the attack vector seemed to have stopped attacking the local datacenters, and services were successfully restored to clients. - Mitigation

Most services have been restored, however to bypass this DDOS attack we have had to route services vie the EU. Most services are back online. We are looking at alternative solutions to this as it seems that local South African Datacenters do not have the capability to deal with large attacks as is being seen. Unfortunately this DDOS attack has affected Xneelo, Diametrix, domains.co.za, and others. -

Services are being restored in a controlled and staggered approach while DDoS mitigation work continues. Some customers may already be seeing improved reach-ability, while others may still experience intermittent connectivity depending on their source ISP and routing path. As part of our mitigation efforts, traffic may be rerouted through alternate paths, which can result in increased latency for some connections. Our network team is continuing to monitor traffic patterns, restore routes carefully and apply filtering where required to avoid further instability. Further updates will be provided as restoration progresses.
