Blackberry - POP or IMAP Setup & Configuration

Configuring your e-mail account on your Blackberry:
There are a few options / methods for configuring your e-mail account on your Blackberry device.   Below are a few ways that you can do so, starting with the most preferred / recommended option.  
NOTE: The instructions / steps  below may vary by wireless carrier / Blackberry device

OPTION 1 - Configuring / Setting up your e-mail account directly from your Blackberry device.

  1. Launch the "Personal Email Set Up" application on your Blackberry.
  2. Login with your username and password
  3. if needed find the "Services" heading and click on "Email Accounts".
  4. Click on "Add An Email Acccount".
  5. Enter your Email address and Password and click "Next" to continue.
  6. You should now see a message indicating that you have successfully configured your email account.
  7. Click "OK".
  8. Logout / exit your Blackberry Internet browser.

OPTION 2 - Configuring / Setting up your e-mail account through the Blackberry Internet Service website.

  1.       On your desktop computer, go to http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/blackberry101/setup.jsp
  2. Select the Email Tab and
  3. Choose your Carrier.
  4. Create an account or  Login if you already have a username and password.
  5. Verify that your device information (PIN and IMEI #'s) is correct (Settings > Change Device).
  6. Under the Services heading, click "Email Accounts"
  7. then click on the "Set Up Account" button under "Add An Existing Email Account".
  8. Fill out the fields accordingly and proceed to adding your email account.
  9. When done, you should receive a message saying "You have successfully  configured access to: User@domain.com" (where User@domain.com is the email address in which you have added).
  10. An icon for this email account should now appear on your Blackberry device and you should begin receiving emails sent to this email account on your Blackberry device as well.
