WiMax is a new offering from telkom, in the event that ADSL is not available in your area due to cabling / or exchange issues, a new Wimax service with a speed offering of 512kbps is available as an alternative to ADSL in these cases.
The WiMax service works in exactly the same way as ADSL, except the connectivity is provided wirelessly (only available in the major centers currently) Traffic allowances is provisioned in exactly the same way as a normal ADSL account. It is purchased in Gb Blocks.
To use this service the connectivity will be provided via a wireless modem available from telkom.
