Throttling

Throttling is new to SmarterMail and allows System Administrators to limit the number of messages, amount of bandwidth, and/or the number of bounced messages that will be allowed to or from a domain, user, or mailing list in a given amount of time. This is a vital new tool to prevent the abuse of your email system. Actions can be automated based upon the throttling parameters to prevent abuse in real-time

Spool Management - Priority

System Administrators now have the ability to manage email delivery more effectively than ever before by setting Priorities. Now, mailing lists and other process-intensive email can be assigned a lower priority allowing regular email to avoid unnecessary delays. Notifications can be given higher priority to make sure that important information is delivered in a timely fashion.

Archiving by Domain

SmarterMail has the ability for system-wide email archiving. System Administrators can designate an archive folder which will contain copies of every inbound and outbound email sent each day. At the end of each day SmarterMail will take that folder and compress it for archival storage. This is a great feature for companies which need to keep records of inbound and outbound communication for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory agencies.

Log Files – View and Download with Ease

SmarterMail now makes reviewing log files quick and efficient by eliminating the need for multiple tools or applications to view the files from their systems. SmarterTrack allows managers to monitor all active Live Chats on the system, in a department, or by agent—including the ability to view or search for old chat sessions. Managers can monitor Live Chats in real time—offering “co-chat” or coaching assistance when needed. All Live Chats are maintained in the system and can be searched and recovered for training or

 

Nothing Overlooked

Although SmarterTrack has substantial features and is equivalent to many independent products, usability features have not been overlooked! An important situation that is often overlooked is how abandoned or lost internet connections for Live Chat sessions are handled. SmarterTrack gracefully tries to re-connect with either the agent or customer, until a connection has been restablished. In situations where a connection can’t be restablished with the agent, SmarterTrack will reassign the Live Chat session back into the queue for the next available agent.

SmarterTrack also includes distinct notifications (visual and audible) to alert agents when a new chat has been put in their queue and to help ensure the best response time. When certain, configurable idle thresholds have been surpassed, the visual notification will begin blinking rapidly and different tones will be heard by the agent to provide intuitive indications of urgency.

Agents can utilize an Away from Keyboard (AFK) feature. The feature gives agents the ability to have a temporary reprieve to catch-up or take a moment for other job responsibilities. Events and Notifications can be assigned to AFK actions so that managers and administrators can be notified immediately.

The integrated WhosOn feature included within SmarterTrack gives businesses the ability to track customers as they navigate the website in real-time. SmarterNotify is a free, easy-to-use, Windows-based notification utility that allows users to monitor a wide variety of software applications through one, streamlined interface. Whether you’re monitoring applications on servers across your network or supervising support agents that use SmarterTrack, SmarterNotify will help simplify your day-to-day operations.

How SmarterNotify Works

SmarterNotify installs locally on your computer and is configured to run from the system tray. Users can create connections to SmarterTools products or third-party applications to monitor for events that fit user-specified parameters. When an event is detected, SmarterNotify alerts the user with visual and/or audible indicators. SmarterNotify’s Read Out Loud feature can even read aloud the notification details to the user.

Unclutter Your Desktop

While some applications may have built-in notification features, most require a local installation or an open Web browser to see these notifications. In addition, the built-in notification features of these applications only works when the applications are running, which can drain valuable system resources and clutter your desktop. With this feature enabled, you won’t have to worry about missing a notification or pop-up message. The Read Out Loud feature utilizes the speech synthesizing features of Windows and the computer’s speakers to audibly recite the date and/or time, subject, and body of each notification.

SmarterNotify creates connections with a server and monitors events that fit the given parameters. SmarterNotify then generates a notification and delivers it to the user’s desktop in real time. SmarterNotify also allows users to import and export connection profiles so they can be shared with other users who want to receive the same notifications.

For example, a support specialist may have a connection profile set up to notify him of all incoming tickets. When he goes on vacation, he can export that connection profile and send it to another co-worker. The co-worker can then import the connection profile into his installation of SmarterNotify. In doing so, the co-worker is notified when new tickets for the vacationing support specialist are received and can take appropriate action.

Similarly, a system administrator may have connection profiles set up to help him monitor 100 servers. If a new system administrator also needs to monitor the same 100 servers, he doesn't need to spend time creating new connection profiles for each server. Instead, his co-worker can export one or all of the already-existing connection profiles and send them to the new system administrator. The new system administrator can then import the connection profiles into his installation of SmarterNotify and begin receiving notifications immediately.

Auto-launch From the System Tray

SmarterNotify is set to start automatically when you turn on your computer and log in to Windows. When the application is running, the SmarterNotify icon will appear in the system tray and application settings and features can be managed by clicking on the SmarterNotify system tray icon.
